Abstract:

The European Network of Law Enforcement Technology Services (ENLETS) is an informal network for exchange of information on needs, problems and solutions concerning special equipment, technology or methods that are used by the law enforcement agencies (mainly the police organisations). Most EU countries have appointed a national contact point to participate in the network.

Author writes that Europe's police forces want to increase their influence on European security research policy, but it is doubtful that this will constrain the spread of military technology into civil arenas.
