Accessible websites and apps for all: Council adopts first-ever EU-wide rules

On the 18 July 2016, the Council of the European Union approved the public sector web accessibility directive, which will ensure better access to websites and mobile application also to disadvantage people.

The directive, which had been agreed with the European Parliament in May 2016, sets out minimum conditions and common European accessibility standards.
