Adoption of conclusions on circular economy

Summary:

The Council of the European Union adopted on 25 June 2018 a set of conclusions on delivering the EU Action Plan for the circular economy.

Further information:

The Council reconfirmed the potential of the circular economy to achieve sustainable growth and to reduce the dependency on non-renewable primary raw materials.

It also underlined the need to reconsider consumption habits, to avoid unnecessary use of plastic and the importance of effective management of substances of concern in products and waste for setting up non-toxic material cycles.
