The European Commissioner for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Maria Damanaki addressed the Committee of Senior Officials of the Adriatic Ionian Initiative (AII) on 16 February 2011. Ms Damanaki praised the AII for its vision to cooperate on a regional level since it was established in 2000. The Commissioner supported the idea to create a maritime strategy for the region and invited the AII countries to work with the European Commission, so a proposal could be put forward in the following year. |
