In the wake of the chemical attacks that occurred in Syria on 21 August 2013 and the ensuing international outcry, this Alert highlights the dangers of instrumentalising chemical warfare allegations in pursuit of other policy goals. It concludes that rather than rushing to action, waiting for the results of the UN investigative team tasked with analysing the evidence may be the wisest option for all. |
