The report presents the results of an extensive study on ageing and employment. The study identifyies good practices in increasing job opportunities and maintaining older workers in employment. It offers some reflections on the notion of good practice in the light of the research conducted, identifies the factors that seem to contribute most to the successful introduction and development of age management and the factors that seem to act as a barrier. It also makes recommendations for action at European, national, company and individual level. The study aims to provide feedback on the European Employment Strategy where extending working lives and increasing employment rates of older workers is an objective.
