...will no longer be subject to frontier controls after 26 October, it was announced this week. But flights arriving in the Netherlands from Italy will face checks until the end of March. Controls at Rome's land and sea borders will also continue until March. Similar arrangements will be introduced for Austria, but airport checks will not be abolished until 1 December. Greece will join the Schengen database and visa arrangements on 1 December, but will have to wait until next year to find out when frontier controls will be ended.
