This study investigates whether private insurance contracts can be a substitute to investment compensation schemes (ICS). Section 3.3 lists current and past use of private insurance contracts by ICS and/or investment firms in several EU countries, namely: Ireland, Austria, Greece, Lithuania, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Finland, Malta and the United Kingdom, as well as in Canada and South Africa. |
