Amended proposal for a Directive Of The European Parliament And Of The Council amending Directive 2001/83/EC as regards information to the general public on medicinal products subject to medical prescription amending, as regards information to the general public on medicinal products subject to medical prescription, Directive 2001/83/EC on the Community code relating to medicinal products for human use

On 10 December 2008, the Commission adopted a proposal for a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on information to the general public on medicinal products subject to medical prescription. This proposal was forwarded to the European Parliament and the Council on 10 December 2008.

The Economic and Social Committee gave its opinion on 10 June 2009 and the Committee of the Regions, 7 October 2009. The European Parliament adopted a legislative resolution at its first reading on 24 November 2010.
