An end to isolation?

Analysis of the significance of the agreement between the European Union and Turkey adopted at the European Council, Brussels, 17-18 March 2016.

The author writes that from Turkey's point of view the deals real attraction lies in the promise of rekindling the embers of Turkey’s membership bid with Europe. However, the worry is that if Turkish politics hits another volatile patch, bashing the EU deal could become a popular rhetorical tool in an election cycle.
