Ankara gives pledge on customs union with Cyprus

The Turkish Government announced on 12 July 2005 agreement on a protocol extending its European customs union to Cyprus was due to be signed within 'a week or 10 days'. The protocol is a prerequisite for starting accession talks with the European Union on 3 October 2005.
