Anti-war camp seeks alliance for UN

Two weeks into the Iraq war, the French, German and Russian Foreign Ministers met on 4 April 2003 to discuss how to proceed once the war is over. A joint statement issued following the meeting reiterated their view that the United Nations must be closely involved in postwar economic and political reconstruction in Iraq.
