Apple blocks Samsung tablet from EU markets

EurActiv reported that Apple scored a big victory in its patent infringement battle against Samsung Electronics after a German court barred the Korean firm on the 9 August 2011 from temporarily selling its flagship Galaxy tablet in the European Union except the Netherlands.

The ban was upheld on the 9 September 2011 after a German court ruled that Samsung Electronics cannot sell its Galaxy Tab in Germany because it violated patents of rival Apple's iPad2 tablet computer following Samsung's appeal to the earlier ruling.
