In an interview with the BBC broadcast on the 16 February 2017 the President of the UK's Supreme Court Lord Neuberger criticised politicians for not doing enough to defend judges following a row over the Brexit legal challenge.

He said that unjustified attacks on the judiciary undermined the rule of law.
