Audit regulator concerned at threat of foreign firm inspections burden

The chief executive of the UK's Financial Reporting Council, the body tasked with monitoring the auditing of listed businesses, is concerned that his organisation will not cope with a forthcoming European Union Directive requiring the Council to inspect the work of all overseas audit firms working for UK-listed companies.
