Austria resists outcry over far right in coalition talks

The United States, the German Chancellor, Gerhard Schröder, and the European Commission, joined a chorus of protest against the planned new coalition government, which would include the far-right Freedom party, after Austria's fellow EU member states made a statement on 31.1.00 promising tough measures against such a government.
