Austrian moves to increase the charges for vehicles

using the Brenner motorway will be challenged in the the European Court of Justice, the Commission said this week. It said the new Brenner charges were out of all proportion to operating costs and could not be justified by Vienna's arguments that they are in line with other toll increases and the aim of diverting local traffic to other roads.
