Following the delays which have dogged regulatory reform plans devised by Alexandre Lamfalussy to fast-track new securities legislation there are concerns that delays could also affect an initiative launched in April 2002 by the UK Chancellor, Gordon Brown, and the German Finance Minister, Hans Eichel, for new committees to hasten the pace of banking and insurance legislation. |
