Barristers object to EU plan to reform law of contract / Barristers object to proposals by Brussels to reform contract law

UK barristers are concerned about a European Commission communication on contract law reform which cites mandatory European-wide harmonisation of existing laws. The UK Bar Council issued a lobbying document at the end of October 2001 which warned of the 'extremely damaging business implications' of the proposals which could 'destroy a significant invisible export. The risk is real and tangible'.
