Barroso: I proposed putting a ‘face’ on EU elections

Speaking to reporters on 12 September 2013 Commission President José Manuel Barroso advised the European political parties to present their candidate for Commission president at the European Parliament elections in 2014. He stressed his desire for common candidates among the EU countries which would give a more European feel to the democratic exercise.
