The Belgian Parliament passed a bill on the 13 February 2014 allowing euthanasia for terminally ill children without any age limit, by 86 votes to 44, with 12 abstentions. The country was one of only a handful where euthanasia was legal.

The proposal aroused strong feelings for and against the proposal in Belgium and further afield.
