Blair bans the band

Moves to promote the multicultural joys of life in the EU ran into a spot of bother the night before the summit when Blair asked a band of Spanish musicians to turn down the volume.

The enthusiastic troubadours were playing merrily in Cardiff's Queen Street when they received the prime ministerial missive. It seems the Andalucian antics had interrupted a meeting in Blair's suite at the Park Hotel, which is also on Queen Street.
