Blair presses for tough EU curbs on immigration / Blair leads push to block illegal EU immigration

The UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, is pushing for tough measures to crack down on illegal immigrants by denying European Union aid to developing countries that do not co-operate with Europe's border policies. The issue will head the agenda at the European Council in Seville in June 2002.
