Blair’s moment of destiny on Europe

Editorial says: France's referendum result raised difficult questions for the other 24 member states of the European Union, but the hardest are those that now face Britain. Any rejoicing over a French Non that could obviate the need for a British referendum will be tempered by the challenges that now lie ahead for Tony Blair. The prime minister cannot be seen to be administering the coup de grâce to the new constitutional treaty, and must soon begin leading the search for a way out of the morass.
