Brewery takes excise complaint to Brussels

Shepherd Neame, an independent UK brewery, has complained to the European Commission about Britian's high excise duties on beer, which it says is undermining its business. The difference in duty levied on beer between Britain and France has encouraged a flourishing trade in smuggling.
