Britain warned not to obstruct summit

On 27.11.00 the European Commission warned that the crucial European summit in Nice in December 2000 may not achieve big changes, plunging the EU into a political crisis. Ten days before the meeting of heads of government, the Commission said Britain, France, Germany and Spain were obstructing progress on plans to axe the national veto in key policy areas.
