Britain ‘worst EU country to trade with’

The UK government has been embarrassed by the findings of a European Commission survey made public in November 2001. The survey of 4,000 Europe-based businesses singled out the UK as the Member State with which it is most difficult to trade, due to 'burdensome regulatory requirements and sometimes rigid enforcement'.
