Brown to miss official EU treaty signing

United Kingdom Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, will be absent from the official signing of the EU treaty, 13 December 2007, but will travel to Lisbon and sign the contentious document after joining 'some of' the lunch with other European leaders, Downing Street said earlier in the week.
