Report of opinion of Advocate-General in ECJ Cases C-367/98, C-483/99 and C-503/99. The opinion sees governments' possession of 'golden shares' in former state-owned companies in accordance with Community law. The European Commission wants to outlaw these measures that are taken by governments as a way of blocking unwanted bids as they interfere with capital flows in the Single Market, 3 July 2001.
