Brussels set to propose new labelling of GM crops

Preview of proposals by the European Commission on new labelling of genetically modified (GM) crops. These may include a centralised scientific evaluation of GM crops, tighter labelling requirements and the introduction of a strict system to trace GM-based ingredients through the food chain. European consumer groups welcomed these aspects of the proposals.
