Brussels takes hard pensions line

The European Commission will threaten in March 2001 to take EU countries to court unless they swiftly remove tax obstacles to cross-border pensions. The Commission's threat of court action is expected to be part of a paper outlining its plans to create a more uniform approach to the taxation of pensions.
