Carmakers in the Association of European Automobile Manufacturers (ACEA) are trying to convince the European Commission to ease voluntary targets for cuts in vehicles' greenhouse gas emissions, even as Brussels reiterated, 29 August 2006, threats to impose legislation if the goals were not met.
