German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder has said that a blanket ban on meat-based animal feed is likely to be imposed throughout Germany from Monday 27 November 2000. Mr Schröder also called for an EU-wide ban on meat-and-bone meal. He was speaking after the German Agriculture Ministry announced the detection of the first two cases of mad cow disease in German-born cows. |
