After his party winning 120 of the 240 seats in the Bulgarian Parliament in the June 2001 elections, Simeon Saxe-Coburg, formerly King Simeon II of Bulgaria, was sworn in as the country's prime minister on 24 July 2001. His National Movement for King Simeon II will govern in coalition with the ethnic Turk Movement for Rights and Freedoms, which won 21 seats.
