Business bridges transcend troubled waters

San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge and Caen's Pont de Normandie do not meet in reality. However, the European Union's closest economic and commercial relationship is with the United States. That may not always be evident when attention focuses on what divides rather than on what unites. But the economic basics are sound and dialogue and regulatory cooperation are strong features of the transatlantic partnership.
