Date: 30/11/00 ...according to a survey of 4,000 firms featured in the Commission's latest internal market 'scoreboard'. European firms note a significant reduction in obstacles to cross-border trade compared to two years ago and view favourably the future expansion of the EU to the accession candidate countries. Some three-quarters of all companies interviewed consider that the consolidation of the internal market will be favourable or very favourable to their business. Satisfaction with the internal market is highest in smaller countries such as Greece and Denmark. The survey also found that, in general, larger companies are far happier than their smaller counterparts. |
