Call for Europe-wide action on trade data

The UK Office for National Statistics has defended the integrity of its trade statistics, while calling for Europe-wide action to resolve discrepancies affecting all countries' data. EU countries are being asked to investigate the data flaws that mean that any one country's recorded exports to another Member State are typically higher than the recipient country's recorded imports.
