Report of an interview by United Kingdom Prime Minister David Cameron on the BBC TV Andrew Marr politics programme on the 10 January 2016.

Politico and other news sources reported that Mr Cameron gave the clearest indication yet that he wanted the U.K. to stay in the EU, saying 'I don’t think [an exit] is the right answer'.

He also said he was 'hopeful' of reaching a deal on an EU reform package with European leaders at the European Council in February 2016 that would allow him to hold the UK's EU referendum later in the year.

He also said he would stay on as Prime Minister even if he ended up on the losing side.
