Euro|Topics relaunched their website during 2016. Features published before that date are still available via an archive website (see related url hyperlinks).Euro|Topics wrote that the Italian airline Alitalia was expected to file for bankruptcy by the end of April 2017, after it was announced on the 25 April 2017 that most of its employees voted against a rescue package negotiated between the management and trade unions and the government. Liquidation was the only viable course for the airline, commentators agree, and take the workforce to task.

On the 26 April 2017 the Italian government said that Alitalia would not be nationalised but would be sold to the highest bidder. Lufthansa was considered a possible bidder.
