This conference, on the opening day of the international food fair Cibus, focused on the possible contribution of science and innovation in building up a more sustainable food chain. The European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Affairs, delivered a keynote address, and in a round table discussion key actors explored how various parties can contribute to a sustainable food chain. The role of policy makers at national and European level and manners in which to stimulate sustainable innovation were also discussed.
