Catalan parties planning to declare independence after election win

A pro-independence unitary list for the Catalan Parliament elections on the 27 September 2015 and a road map towards independence were officially presented on the 20 July 2015 in Barcelona. Liberals, Social-Democrats, Greens, Christian-Democrats, Socialists and civil society organisations would unite to run together and transform the election into a 'de facto' plebiscite on independence from Spain.

Spain's conservative national government opposes independence for Catalonia. 'There will be no independence for Catalonia', Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy said on the 17 July 2015.
