Catalonia’s pro-independence coalition breaks down

The pro-independence coalition ruling Spain's Catalonia broke down on the 8 June 2016 after its most radical component, the CUP (Popular Unity Candidacy), refused to back the government budget, forcing the Catalan President Carles Puigdemont to call a parliamentary vote of no confidence to be held in September 2016.
