EurActiv published a feature in May 2015 on the European Commission's intention to promote European indie rock music groups through a network of clubs where would be encouraged to stage emerging acts from member states. For the purpose, the Commission's Creative Europe programme was set to make available €1.5 million over a period of three years through its Liveurope platform, founded in October 2014, coordinated from Brussels music venue Ancienne Belgique. The initiative was designed to emulate a similar Commission assisted programme started in 1992 to create a network of cinemas focusing on European films. |
