Commission mulls ‘Juncker Plan’ for the EU’s southern neighbours

EurActiv reports that the European Commission was considering in January 2016 a 'Juncker Plan’ to support the Southern Mediterranean region, in order to cut the high number of refugees arriving in Europe.

Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2016 German Minister of Finance Wolfgang Schäuble also called for a ‘Marshall Plan’ for the region bordering Europe's south.
