Commission opens formal investigation into Luxembourg’s tax treatment of McDonald’s

The European Commission announced on 3 December 2015 it had opened a formal probe into Luxembourg's tax treatment of McDonald's.

It's preliminary view is that a tax ruling granted by this country in 2009 may have granted the company an advantageous tax treatment in breach of EU State Aid rules.
