Summary: Communication published by the European Commission on 9 December 2020, launching the European Climate Pact initiative. Further information: The European Climate Pact is an initiative to engage with different stakeholders and civil society with the aim to commit them to climate action and more sustainable behaviour. It aims to offer ways for people and organisations to learn about climate change, to develop and implement solutions, and to connect with others to multiply the impact of those solutions. This initiative was first announced by the President of the European Commission as part of her Political Guidelines. The Communication on the European Green Deal further elaborated on the goals of the Climate Pact. A public consultation was launched in March 2020 and its results contributed to the developed of this Communication. |
