Communication on the adaptation in line with inflation of minimum amounts of cover laid down in Directive 2009/103/EC relating to insurance against civil liability in respect of the use of motor vehicles

This Communication concerns the adaptation in line with inflation of minimum amounts laid down in Article 9(1) of Directive 2009/103/EC. These amounts have been reviewed in order to take account of changes in the European index of consumer prices comprising all Member States, as published by Eurostat.

The Member States concerned are the thirteen Member States benefiting from a transitional period for the application of Directive 2009/103/EC. For other Member States, for which the Directive entered into application with no transitional period, the minimum amounts were revised in 2016.
