Summary:Set of conclusions adopted by the Council of the European Union on 29 November 2022, concerning sustainable and accessible sports infrastructure. Further information:These conclusions are a reflection of good practice shared by national ministers of how the latest crises affecting sports - among them the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the energy crisis - can be turned into opportunities. National representatives highlighted the used of digital tools, and the effect of the energy crisis in encouraging the transition of sports infrastructure towards sustainable and energy-efficient sources of energy. These conclusions address that transition to more sustainable sport infrastructure, in the broadest social, economic and environmental sense. They were approved at a meeting of the Council of the European Union held on 29 November 2022. The text was published in the Official Journal on 28 December 2022. |
