Conclusions on a homogeneous extended single market and EU relations with Non-EU Western European countries

The Council showed its intention to further deepen the relations between the European Union and these countries, in light of shared values, history, geography but also in the framework of increasing economic integration with the Single Market.

The conclusions also reiterate that the strength of the economic integration depends on full respect for the four freedoms of the Single Market.

These conclusions were published following a meeting of the General Affairs Council in December 2014.

The Council of the European Union adopted on 16 December 2014 a set of conclusions relating to an assessment it undetrook of the relations between the European Union and other Western European countries which are not member states.
