Construction of European qualifications: European symposium

The 'Construction of European Qualifications' symposium was held at the European Parliament in Strasbourg on 30 September to 1 October 2004. The participants discussed national experiences and current proposals at the European level, for the establishment of European common approaches in the identification and recognition of qualifications, including the Transparency principle, the European passport (Europass), education credits (ECTS, ECVET) and mobility programmes. In the workshops, the European Commission proposals were evaluated against national traditions and locally implemented solutions. The ETF participated in this event together with several other public and private organisations. Jean-Raymond Masson, from the ETF, made a presentation on 1 October regarding the process of building up qualifications in the EU partner countries.
